The Cowichan Public Art Gallery invites the community to the opening reception of its latest exhibition, Wayfinder: Art of Will Julsing, taking place Thursday, November 6, from 7:00–9:00 p.m. in the new upper gallery at 126 Ingram Street.

Beloved Dutch-Canadian artist Will Julsing was a true pioneer of the Cowichan Valley arts community. His vibrant murals continue to brighten public and commercial spaces throughout the region, and his evocative paintings have been featured in local, national, and international exhibitions.

Julsing’s artistic career spanned continents and disciplines — from award-winning paintings to architectural designs including a hospital, mosque, and monastery. His work captures both imagination and emotion, leaving a lasting impression on all who encounter it.

The Wayfinder exhibition features a remarkable collection of paintings from the 1970s through the 2000s, generously donated to the Cowichan Public Art Gallery by Julsing’s widow, Bernice Woollam.

This exhibit marks an exciting moment for downtown Duncan, showcasing the beautifully renovated Green Door building and highlighting the ongoing growth of our local arts scene.
